SimpleMail is a new mailer for the Amiga platform (both classic and OS4) and compatible systems
(MorphOS).
It is intended to be as portable as possible so there speaks nothing
against a version for other systems, like for example Windows.
In the current state, SimpleMail is an beta version but it is
very stable however as we try to implement every feature so that
it works and go then on to the next one. However, SimpleMail
grows very fast and with your help it can overgrow YAM soon.
You will always find the latest versions (which are not
necessarily placed in the AMINET) here. Here is
also a FAQ, please read it carefuly!
If you have any questions or bugs then send them to the
user-mailinglist please, whose URL you'll find in the links. Bug reports should submitted to the
Bug Tracking system.
But if you have encouragements send them to one of the developers. Their e-mail addressed can be found in
contact. And actually, if you
like SimpleMail that much, it is possible to express your encouragements by donating some money to our Paypal
account. In order to do so, use the paypal button at the footer of these pages and then process the instructions.

Just in time a new version of SimpleMail has been released! The new
version 0.33 comes with the following changes
- Quick filter now highlights the first occurrence of the string
within all cells in the mail list
- Maillist now supports alternating background colors for rows.
This feature can be controlled by three new hidden options:
Hidden.DontDrawAlternatingRows,
Hidden.RowBackground, and
Hidden.AltRowBackground.
- Fixed some critical bugs in the SimpleHTML engine
- POP3 feature "Avoid duplicates" should now work better when using
multiple accounts on the same server.
- Improved IMAP support
- Incoming mails are no longer added by one into the mail tree list
- Added functions such as "Save All Attachments", "Select All Messages",
and "Clear Selection" to improve general usability a little bit

And here is the Christmas and birthday release of SimpleMail. In brief, the release 0.32 of SimpleMail
is characterized by the following changes:
- Partly supports AISS. Can be disabled by using the Hidden.DontUseAISS hidden configuration option.
- Completed functionality of custom mail list, e.g., columns can be reordered, their state saved, and so on.
- Added quick filter.
- Bug fixes.

Version 0.31 of SimpleMail released!
The changes are:
- Replaced the usage of the NList class by the mail list with the usage of a custom list. It should act like NList, but
switching through folders should be a lot of faster now. Also it allows further improvments to the mail list.
The new SIMPLEMAIL_OLDMAILLIST environment variable can be used to stick to the NList class usage. (bgol, sba)
- New config option "Folder to display at startup" (bgol)
- Filter improved (bgol)
- Double buffering of simplehtml engine can be disabled via SIMPLEHTML_NODOUBLEBUFFER environment variable.
- Minor fixes in the simplehtml engine.

Here again we present the christmas release of SimpleMail. However, due to many
time contraints on the part of the authors only minor issues could be addressed
this time.
The changes for version 0.30 were:
- Minor fixes in the html display (bgol).
- Previewed mails are now marked as read after a certain amount of time.
- Minor fixes in the index creation code.

Version 0.29 of SimpleMail released!
The changes are:
- E-mail addresses within the mails can be added to the addressbook now (only within mail preview).
- Added support of AmigaOS patterns to the filter rules. (bgol)
- Added possibility to skip the server which is currently being processed.
- Finally added BCC support and email importance setting (bgol)
- Bug fixes (printing and other stuff)
